Along the way she stays with several different families experiencing all of their unique hardships they face in the war. Eventually, she is reunited with him after a very long journey. Personal Reaction: I found this book accidentally in one of the gift shops in London, and I fell in love with it almost immediately. My father is a military historian, and his favorite time period is World War 2 so I have been surrounded by it my whole life. Also, I am really fond of cats. Extensions: 1) I would teach the children about what it was like for the people in England during this time. 2) I would have the children try to write a story in a perspective of a cat or a dog. Lord Gort does her bit in the war effort. As she travels about England, and then the Continent, searching for her person, she brings emotional and material benefits to all she stays with. Easing the impact of loss, bringing luck, noticing a change in the plane's engine, leading the horses and carts out of the Coventry fire...She does good, and finally receives her reward. It's a heartening book, as well as teaching about England and the English during the German blitz. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
