Mudge makes friends friends with a lost cat that Henry and his family adopt temporarily, until the cat's owner, a grateful policeman, comes to claim it. ( ![]() Henry's family takes in a stray cat, the ugliest cat they have ever seen, and an amazing relationship blossoms between it and their big dog Mudge. This book is such a cute story! It shows kindness from strangers that take care of a possibly stray cat until the owner of the cat comes to find the cat. It is also a easy read for beginning readers (words are not hard to read or understand) and when I used it with my student at my internship, when she didn't know a word or what the sentence was saying, she looked at the picture. The pictures explain what is going on in the story. I have a lot of respect for Henry's mom. In some ways I want to be her, with a big porch & yard & trees, and long dresses and bare feet - but I don't want a huge slobbery dog, thank you. a second grade chapter book. The story is about a dog and the bond he forms with a lost cat. The cat and dog become great pals. When the owner claims the cat, the family is lonely without him. The story shows an unlikely friendship between them. A great way to start young readers on chapter books. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
