This is a B grade mystery with some technical problems about DNA analysis that might be because it was published in 1979. It's fine for a beach or plane ride, but overall not satisfying. ( ) I was wrapped up in the mystery from the beginning. I liked the characters, and I was surprised when the murderer’s identity was revealed. The clues were all there, they were just skillfully hidden. Kali O’Brien has returned to her home town after leaving a prestigious job in San Fransisco. Running her own show is good, but getting business is hard. She agrees to help out an old friend with a case defending a killer the whole town thinks is guilty. The case may be high profile, but not everyone is happy that she’s involved. I recommend this if you like a cozy mystery with an edge. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

When Lisa Cornell and her five-year-old daughter are killed, Wes Harding, a former classmate of Kali's, becomes the prime suspect. Kali agrees to assist her long-time legal mentor on the case but is stunned when Harding refuses to help his own defense and won't explain why. Kali soon discovers that Lisa Cornell harbored secrets of her own -- including a mysterious link to a long-ago tragedy. Racing against time, Kali must use her wit and legal savvy to untangle one of the most complex cases of her career. But even she doesn't suspect how close to danger she is -- or how much she'll risk to bring a cunning killer to justice.... Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
