Some really important ideas and things to think about for everyone who reads and studies Virginia and Leonard Woolf. It will clearly rub some people the wrong way, and will shock many. But I think it is a good balance to the narrative that has been suggested about this famous couple's lives together. ( ) 3 Stars for writing ability, 3 stars for new insights to Bloomsbury( Nelly Boxhall had sex with Leonard ?!?) . Irene Coates hangs ,draws and quarters Leonard Woolf with a wide smile on her face . It appears that Leonard physcologically caged Virginia and eventually after 30+ years of slow mental torture designed specifically to drive her to the river Ouse succeed in his master plan. . 5 stars for Leonard for sticking to the program. 8 stars to Irene Coates for IMHO 'superb fiction' with some actual thought provoking suggestions. Lets face it , Leonard WAS a bit droll and somewhat of a meanie but I really don't think he left those anti-depressants on the night stand in 1913 so Virginia would over-dose and die !!.. (at least I hope not.) This books for the Bloomsbury Group/Virginia Woolf readers that are familar with who's who & where's where and when. Well written ... 2 stars geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
