This book and the collection of essays it contains to looks at analyses many aspects of both The Golden Compass as a movie and His Dark Materials as the trilogy. While some of the topics discussed and talked about are interesting, at times some of the essays turned a little to harshly toward to political and philosophical rather than simply looking at HSM for what it is - three books. Nonetheless, the read was an interesting and to some extent illuminating one particularly on the nature of daemons. ( ) Scott Westerfeld and a host of other authors give their literary analysis of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials. The analyses focus on a myriad topics involving the series: religion, parenting, honor, lying, deception, and more. I believe all fans of His Dark Materials should read this book, as it makes you think about the series you enjoy a little more. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
