clever wordless book, with a surprise at the end ( )

Silent Night by Sandy Turner

This book is nearly wordless except for the yaps, barks, and wuffs of the dog who sees what's going on, like when he is caught delivering gifts on Christmas Eve. The dog senses what's going to happen but the family doesn't so they send him to bed. When Santa's sleigh arrives, the dog contiues to bark, yap and woof. No one can see Santa, only the dog which is now looose in the house. The dog bites Santa's behind and results in him being tossed outside. As morning breaks, the dog continues to bark until a cat tells to be quiet. The dogs actually gets a patch of Santa's pants and an actual patch of red felt is attached to the back cover of the book. For those who still believe!

The drawings and text do a wonderful job in enhancing a childs mind.
