I liked this book because of the vivid and colorful illustrations. The use of water color was lovely. However, I did not like this book because the story had barely any words. To make the story more exciting and to enhance the illustrations to the book, the author should have incorporated some different word play such as: rhyming or rhythm. Patterns could be incorporated to make the story “flowy” and delightful. The sentences were long, simple, and choppy, which made the development of the book very basic. The first sentence started with, “We slide outside down a snow hill, we warm our bodies by the fireplace, we drink hot cider with cinnamon sticks, we decorate and wait for Christmas”. The commas after each sentence represented the start of a new page. The overall message of this book is to inform the reader how excited and anxious some individuals are for Christmas.
