A really beautiful look at NYC, with quotes from famous people about the city. My favorite, paired with a photo of the Manhattan Bridge, as seen from Brooklyn: "The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding." John Updike. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
This text offers a new perspective on New York, the American metropolis. Using a vintage panoramic camera tilted at an angle of 90 degrees, Hamann spent nearly five years setting up shot after shot, often finding himself balanced precariously out on a window ledge, waiting for the perfect light conditions. His stark black and white compositions lend the photographs a dramatic, often dreamlike quality, and offer unique interpretations of some of the world's most recognizable cityscapes.
