This is an AMAZING book! Spectacular photos and the stories that go with them. ( )

A great intro to flash photography, but there's more. It also tells you the mentality of a photo journalist and what it takes to be one. ( )

If you like people photography, as an admirer, starting or longtime photographer this book has something for you. About the only thing I did not like about this book is the cover photo. Yuck. But that may just be me.

The images within are fantastic and all come with an interesting, often quite personal story. What makes this book especially interesting for photographers is the easy to understand explanation on how each image was created. Although certainly not a cookbook, there is enough information for the Strobist to recreate quite a few images. Getting access to all the famous people and interesting places in the pictures may be more of problem. ( )

Very informative and inspiring book about how McNally approaches photographic assignments. ( )
