Three teenage girls, each with a significant health problem, each with a boyfriend or prospective romance, and each with impending decisions about her future, become counselors at Jenny House for a summer where they are helping younger girls deal with their cancer, heart problems, diabetes, or similar illnesses. Katie O’Roark has been offered a track scholarship in Arizona and feels both a pull to follow her dreams there and also a connection with her boyfriend, Josh. Even more complex, Katie is alive because of a heart transplant from Josh’s brother! Katie’s friends, Chelsea James and Lacey Duval, are immersed in their own romantic issues; Chelsea lacks confidence and self-esteem and believes no one man wants her. Lacey, on the other hand, has a certain arrogance and therefore cannot convince her boyfriend that she truly cares for him. Friendship is the girls’ bond, and like many teenage girls that bond and their sharing builds their confidence. Teenage girls will love this. (
