Style Deficit Disorder is the first book to explore this remixed, fast-forward fashion hotbed, profiling its most daring and influential designers, labels, stylists, and shops (including Comme des Garons, Hysteric Glamour, Super Lovers, A Bathing Ape, and Laforet). Style Deficit Disorder: Harajuku Street Fashion, Tokyo - Tiffany Godoy. Fascinating photos, useful information not found elsewhere. It is as extremely specific as the name would imply. The hardcover book covers the history of the area as a fashion incubator, profiles of tastemakers, and detailed short histories of the relevant brands (i.e. Hysteric Glamor, BAPE, the big GosuRori names). Interestingly and importantly, it also goes into the main magazines that covered each movement, with sample covers and editorial. Sometimes I wonder if paper magazines are doomed to extinction, but let's face it, most clothes look crappy when viewed on a screen. Maybe paper editorial is still relevant for fringe fashion, as seen in magazines like Kera. The book also has a map showing Harajuku fashion landmarks past and present. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
