Each subject or topic being discussed has a description such as, “history has facts” or “teachers have rules”. The facts are funny but true statements about school. Critique: This realistic fiction shows all the realistic elements about being in school. Some are good and some are bad, but every student has some realistic understanding of what each statement means. The setting in this story takes place in a school and is necessary for the theme of the book. Each statement or fact has an illustration of the action taking place which makes it fun and easy to understand the setting taking place. Teacher Use: A teacher could use this book as a way to teach children about rhyming. The teacher could have the class read the story then write a poem or rhyming story of their own about something in their lives.
