"The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" is ashort story by Edgar Allan Poe. The anonymous narrator visits a mental institution in southern France that is pioneering a new treatment. After touring the grounds, he is invited to dine with the faculty, but it soon becomes apparent that not all is what it seems. Humorous and chilling, "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" will not disappoint fans of Poe's marvellous work. Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) was an American author, editor, poet, and critic. Most famous for his stories of mystery and horror, he was one of the first American short story writers, and is widely considered to be the inventor of the detective fiction genre. Many antiquarian books such as this are becoming increasingly rare and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Indeed it's a lighter book compared to his others but he knew how to keep his somber effect even through a "humorous" book...because such a cleverness (when the plot twist is revealed) can steal a few smiles from you. ( )
