Maybe Selected Shorts is always this good, this was the first time I listened to them. I especially loved -- LOVED -- the first story and reader, an M.F.K. Fisher story. Runners up were the Damon Runyon and Roald Dahl stories -- the former for the 'Gus 'n Dolls' patois and the latter for John Lithgow's fabulous timing. ( ) This series features recordings of professional actors performing short stories. The theme of this one is stories about food. All of the recordings are good, and some are excellent. My favorite was John Lithgow performing "Taste" by Roald Dahl. It was hilarious and I could tell from the laughter of the audience on the CD that it was even bettern in person. I highly recommend this audiobook. It is perfect for short drives since the stories aren't very long. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
