It is almost certainly a me problem, but I did not care for this story at all. I normally enjoy lugubrious horror and gothic stories with beautiful prose, but I just didn't engage with this at all or feel anything. I'll have to check out some more James to see if he's just not my cup of tea.

I just don't have anything to say beyond the prose was pretty and David Suchet's narration was good.

I caught a BBC version of this with Christopher Lee doing it, I suppose 'nuff said. I loved it.
Even aside from the obvious it was a great little tale, it conjured up images that got into my dreams. ( )
