From the first page or two I found this book to be one I didn't want to read because of its narration style. Though the book is written for young adults, the style feels as if it better fits the reading level of five year olds. I couldn't make myself push past the first couple of chapters. It is narrated from the present tense and is simplistic in vocabulary and content. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Mr. Jennings creates witty characters who create an overall comical and adventurous plot. The unique writing style takes readers into the present day where pirates still happen to be in existence. Through his ability to bring his characters alive, Jennings leaves readers hoping to spot a wooden pirate ship off on the horizon. This book is a fun, quick read for people of all ages. ( )
