A Romance of Two Worlds, by Marie Corelli (read 7 Oct 2019) I came across this novel (originally published i1886) and decided to read it, not that I had any particular interest in Corelli but I knew of her and thought I should read something by her. This is her first published book and is extremely dry and very little happens in the story till near the end. The narrator of the novel is a lady musician who is in Cannes but goes to Paris for attention by a guy who says he can cure her bad health. The guy has a sister named Lara who becomes very friendly with the narrator. There is a lot of talk about religion, some of it of interest but while Lara is a Catholic this is not a Catholic novel. It is very talky and since I nearly always finish a book I start I did not quit reading this book though it was a drag There are good English novels written in he 19th century but this is not one of them, geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
