A good size book jam packed with references, examples, stories and useful information, for any person interested in what Christians believe, and in some of the possible directions for discussion with an atheist. ( ) I stopped reading this book early on. The first chapter or two contained so many errors of fact and interpretation that I saw no point in continuing. I just skimmed into it again, as I entered the book onto this database. I found the passage on "the atomists," and the author's treatment of Epicurus. He doesn't understand Epicurean theology at all. He imputes to Epicurus the notion that there were many worlds, but no gods. Epicurus, of course, made a point of acknowledging the existence of gods. He just reasoned that they would have no interest in us, and we should not worship them. A far cry from Blanchard's idiotic quick summary of Epicurus's philosophy. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
