These collections and Calvin & Hobbes collections were the only comics that my parents both approved and allowed us to have growing up, so I have fond memories of these books. ( ) Charlie Brown and Snoopy, both the existentialists of my childhood and Snoopy my hero too..... http://alittleteaalittlechat.wordpress.com/2013/09/26/peanuts-treasury-by-charle... Of the 11 "Peanuts" collections that I've read, this one is by far the best. Over 600 cartoons are included, ranging in size from the standard 4-panel daily strips to the full page Sunday ones. The collection was printed in 1968, and the cartoons originally appeared in newspapers between 1959 and 1967. Thus, they capture Charles Schulz' work when he was at his height as a cartoonist. We get all the prominent themes: Linus with his blanket, Lucy the crabby sister, Charlie and his losing baseball team, Schroeder and his piano, Linus and the Great Pumpkin, Lucy and the football, the kite-eating tree, Peppermint Patty, the little red-haired girl that Charlie can never get up nerve to talk to, and of course Snoopy. A few reviewers at Amazon complain about quality of the printing. My copy has no such problem; the print is every bit as clear as one might like. Any reader who wants to see Peanuts and Charles Schultz at their best will want this book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Brings together more than six hundred of Charles Schulz's favorite Peanuts cartoons. So come join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty and friends as they swat at baseballs, fight with kite-eating trees and philosophize in the pumpkin patch. This collection will delight and entertain as it offers the Peanuts gang's most memorable encounters with existence and the valuable lessons they learn through wit, humor and heart.
