In this episode a beloved character, Godwin is accused of murdering his partner. The character development is well-written, but the ending left me a little flat. The author ended the book and gave the story resolution, but I felt like it came out of left field. I'm not sure the plotline was completely developed. But, the story kept the fun I expect from this series and I definitely will continue. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)
After her good friend Godwin has a nasty quarrel with John, his significant other, full-time needlework shop owner and part-time sleuth Betsy Devonshire finds herself with a roommate. Betsy doesn't mind having company, though Godwin is restless and unhappy over the sudden break-up. But sadness turns to grief when Betsy and Godwin discover John dead in his home, and Godwin is arrested for the murder. Betsy knows her friend couldn't be the killer, and sets out to prove it. What she learns is that John had a cat's cradle of secret dealings that had made him a bundle of money, and a lot of enemies. Now, Betsy has to untangle a web of lies if she's going to save Godwin-and find the murderer. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

This time, Betsy's friend and assistant store manager Godwin has had a fight with his boyfriend and temporarily moved out. While Goddy is away, John is murdered and Goddy is immediately arrested as the prime suspect. Of course, we all know Goddy didn't do it, but who did?
It's becoming more and more far-fetched that the denizens of this sleepy little Minnesota town are all involved in nefarious dealings that produce motives for murder, but who cares when the stories are this good? Godwin is a great character and I love his inclusion in a set of mysteries that are aimed at an audience that hasn't been the most historically accepting of the gay community. In this episode, Godwin's character goes from 'sassy best friend' to actual human being and that's a welcome improvement.
