I read this shared reading book in my music education class and I enjoyed it very much. This book allowed the teacher to read, while students could make noises of whatever tool Old MacDonald was using. An example could be "Old MacDonald had a shop, e-i-e-i-o. And in her woodshop she had a saw, e-i-e-i-o. With a zztt here and a zztt there, here a zztt, there a zztt, everywhere a zztt. Old MacDonald had a shop, e-i-e-i-o." The noises produced from this book gives children the opportunity to take or make an instrument and play along with the book while the teacher is reading it. This allows for maximum involvement and total physical response during a shared reading book, which is why I like it so much.

This book put a spin on the classic "Old MacDonald" song. This version introduces different types of tools, and it ends in an inception-like fashion where Old MacDonald has a farm in her wood shop. Speaking of, the Old MacDonald is this story is a female, which I thought was amazing. The illustrations create the fantasy about this book, and it's sing-song tendencies would make it a great interactive piece.

This book is hard to read without singing it to the tune of Old MacDonald had a farm. It goes through and tells the different tools the farm animals had and what they do. Also, the noise they make.
