Another great collection of the social-political commentary comic strip This Modern World. Those who like to accuse the strip as a "left-leaning" publication might want to check this collection out, as it's coverage of the early years of the Clinton White House is not exactly would you would call favorable. As always, the focus of This Modern World isn't the Left or the Right, but rather the politician/media noise machine and its faithful flunkies. ( )

An early collection of "This Modern World" political cartoons by Tom Tomorrow (aka Dan Perkins), beginning with the end days of George Herbert Walker Bush's presidency, and continuing into Bill Clinton's presidency. I was a bit surprised to see how disapproving Sparky (TMW's commentator penguin) was of the Clinton presidency, coming down hard on his malleability and obeisance to his corporate contributors. It may be that the Bush presidency that followed Clinton's has caused us to look back on those days with rose-colored glasses. ( )
