The illustrations of this book is colorful with simple text. This is a great read for expanding vocabulary. My students weren’t familiar with of all of the animals which made them excited when recognized some of them. The book was engaging and my students enjoyed reading it. ( )

A group of crows is called a murder! This book was very informative for me, I had not heard of of few of these group names for animals before. The intro in the front cover leaf is a bit deep for kids "Pride and murder are heinous sins- unless it's a peaceful pride of lions in the jungle or a chattering murder of crows up in the treetops." I get her point, but just kind of heavy for younger children. The book itself was simple and informative and the illustrations are beautiful. A great story to introduce higher level vocabulary and spark discussion about animal groups, for further learning, a class could do a lesson researching more names of animal groups. My preschool students loved the simple text and colorful illustrations. ( )
