I wouldn't want to live on the Far Side, but love reading about it. ( )

Okay, I get that most of you won't think that a comic strip book qualifies as a book, but I had to add this to my list as I enjoyed it so much. Far Side comics are endlessly amusing, clever and ludicrous. This is no exception. Good for a laugh. ( )

I just came across this collection casually, and I enjoyed it as much as the others. Larson is always great. ( )

Gary Larson, but probably not at his best. The book is amusing in places, sort of dull in other places, and totally incomprehensible in still other places. When Larson is good, he is very good; when he is bad, well, he's not horrid. And really, this doesn't reach bad, merely some that just really don't quite make it. The premise starts out with him encountering Madame C on a hike in the desert, and drinking a glass of milk she offered him, after which he was apparently compelled to draw cartoons. I wish he had just dispensed with the storyline, and gone straight to the cartoons. A quick read, some good laughs, and a few head scratchers make up a satisfying evening in the end. ( )

Gary Larson may be the savior of us all. Either that, or we'll all sink into the primordial ooze right along with him! This book concentrates mostly on his cows. ( )
