This book has a mix of all the normal characters of the series and some new people. While searching for some notorious criminals who recently were involved in a payroll robbery the boys (Frank and Joe) experience some difficulties. The boys bring along their most trustworthy friend Chet. The boys are put on the case since their father is hurt and is unable to proceed. The boys head to Montana to solve the case for their father. Unfortunately, they are unaware of the dangers awaiting their arrival. This book is personally one of my favorites. It has action, adventure, and mystery all in one book. I recommend this book for the ages of 9 and up. My personal favorite chapter where a ginormous boulder comes rolling down a hill narrowly missing the boys hardy. This book is the perfect blend of genres. This is a good book for kids going into preteen ages or teen ages. I loved this book from the beginning and I can't wait to read the rest of this series. It has been awhile, thus it was time for another Hardy Boys mystery - Hunting for Hidden Gold. There is not a whole lot to say other than flying through these books is like going back in time, sitting under the great big maple tree next to our house on a summer day reading one of these cover to cover and running back to the library to get another. I could not get enough. These boys incredibly always find themselves in danger and dealing with gangs and thieves, but their fearlessness allows them to conquer whatever gets thrown their way. The adults seem to give them an unbelievable amount of leeway to do whatever they feel is right, and in this particular book, they seem to be experts in camping in the Montana mountains in winter on horseback....even after most of their supplies went down the river......and no one really seems concerned that they are gone. Gosh, to be a Hardy Boy sure would have been something.....and it was something we all aspired to.....and I'm doing it all over again!!! This time round it's a good old-fashioned western adventure for the Hardy Boys. Spooky cemeteries, haunted ghost towns and abandoned gold mines provide the backdrop for the story of the Hardy's attempts to apprehend the gang behind a payroll robbery. Along the way they are kidnapped, caught in a cave in, chase the criminals on horseback and get sidetracked by the twenty-five year old mystery of missing gold from an old mining prospect. This fifth volume in the series keeps up the quality and the pace of the previous books. Another great Hardy Boys adventure! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
