This is a friendly informational book that tells about the beginnings of a large variety of inventions. From land inventions to household inventions, from air travel to medicine, this book covers a lot of ground. Some sections give us origin stories, such as the story of paper. Beginning with ancient Indians, who wrote on leaves, and ancient Chinese, who wrote on silk, the section moves on to a more detailed explanation about the beginnings of papyrus. Despite some recognition of ancient people's contributions, the book is unfortunately largely Eurocentric. It still have a place in a school, home or public library, but you may want to supplement with information about inventors who weren't white. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

In the beginning of the book it talks about why we invent things and who are some of the great inventors. Then it starts talking about the things that have been invented from the very start to the now a days. It starts with wheels then goes to bikes and then it starts talking about how cars were made. After cars It talks about other means of transportation like the first rollerblades than skateboards. This book is all about facts but even so it's still a great read. ( )
