The setting is vividly described, and the characters are engrossing. I couldn't put it down. I look forward to reading more about this author.Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. A Course in Murder by Elizabeth Chater 4 STARS You can tell by the style of clothes and a few other items that the book was written many years ago but the story is still revelant today. I read it in one quick session of time. It was entertaining even though I figured out the guilty party early in. Button had a busy first weeks of collage. She made an enemy of fellow freshman, got asked out by senior, even had a Dr. fall for her, witness a murder, couple trys at her life, someone harassing her and be a suspect on the murder. Button is a Preacher's daughter who's real first name is Boadicea. Its entertaining I would love to know more about Button's life. I would read more from Elizabeth Chater in the future. I was given this ebook in exchange of honest review from Librarything. ebook PUB 11/28/2012 Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. This book starts out with Button working in the flower garden of the rector. Her father is the rector for the area. She is hoping that no one from school walks by to see the Homecoming Queen looking so dirty and working in mulch and fertilizer. But all of that changes when Button hears the mailman walk up.Button goes away to college but it is only a short drive away. She meets some wonderful people and has a great boyfriend. During the first week Button is suppose to go to the Freshman Welcome Hop with this wonderful new guy Bill Major. Bill told Button that he would give her a tour of the library so she would know where everything is located. Somehow Bill's message to Button get's lost. She goes to the library to wait on him but they do not meet up. Button is given a tour by Dr. McGavin but button thinks he is a student being nice to her. Later she finds out who is really is and has to fend off unwanted advances from him. That is when she starts her course in murder. Things start to get a little rough for Button and she gets the feeling someone is out for her. What Button does not know is that they are trying to make people think she is crazy so no one will believe her. As stated above this is a wonderful sweet book for a young adult. It is a very clean read. The above review is my own opinion and not a paid review. To form your own opinion please support the author and purchase your own copy of this book. Although it is not as action packed as most of the mysteries I read it was intriguing and kept my interest. I especially liked setting the murder on a college campus in the 1950s/60s with its formalities and customs especially for women. The story was well developed and the characters were wonderful. If you are looking for a quick fun read - try it out. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
