A beasty story! My placement classrooms favorite book! This book has a lot of connections to identifying colors because it talks about the "beast" being different colors. Also it teaches that not all monsters are scary.

This book shows a group of mice travelling through the woods when they come upon a scary "beast." The beast turns out to be their friends playing a prank on them. For children, the story teaches the root of scary things and where fear comes from. The book is great for young readers as it has great repetition and great pictures.

Really awesome read-aloud, great interaction with colors-good repetition- Dark , Dark color-mystery and prank at the end. ( )
