Two very short plays by Pinter, trying to describe them for a review would give away most of the plot I think. Suffice it to say that they provide two very small windows into two very different situations revealing an uncomfortable situation and both have endings that leave things in an odd and, in the case of the first play, horrifying place. While I often enjoy reading plays, I think I would prefer to have seen these plays as the visual cues and a director's and cast's interpretation would give me a better idea of my own thoughts on the content, I think. A very brief read that left me with a lot of unresolved feelings about it. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
BevatThe Room door Harold Pinter
The Room and The Dumb Waiter In these two early one-act plays, Harold Pinter reveals himself as already in full control of his unique ability to make dramatic poetry of the banalities of everyday speech and the precision with which it defines character. 'Harold Pinter is the most original writer to have emerged from the "new wave" of dramatists who gave fresh life to the British theatre in the fifties and early sixties.'
