Will likely give the second one a try in this series, but this one was a bit over the top. Too many real-life characters, a little over-complex, little too unrealistic. Fun, though, especially as I just returned from a Vienna vacation. Hoping he falls into a nice rhythm as the series rolls on. ( ) The Empty Mirror is a bit clumsy as historical fiction. Jones seemed to place famous names and Austrian trivia in a disjointed manner. The first third of the book was tedious with the characters uninteresting. The story began to pick up in the middle of the book, but did not really grab the attention until the last third of the book. Overall I was unimpressed with the Empty Mirror. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
