This wonderful behind-the-scenes biography takes a look at the life and career of the legendary Annie Oakley. Aided by more than 100 rare photographs, posters, handbills, and other memorabilia, Sayers chronicles Oakley's impoverished childhood, devoted marriage to Frank Butler, her early years with the Sells Brothers Circus, and especially her 17 years touring with Buffalo Bill. What I liked:
I did not know of Annie Oakley's connections to Ohio until recently. I enjoyed learning more about that.
The many photos and illustrations
What I didn't like:
The recitations of Annie's travels with the Wild West Show(s). It was more just like a list of where she went and where she performed--not too much detail. ( )
