Another Usagi, another reason to love this comic book. In this book we are introduced to new characters and there are less character besides Usagi we actually know about. The only complaint I have about this volume is more with me personal that I got it in the mail with a cover that had some minor scratch marks, but other then that the book was fine.

The two stories that stood out to me in this novel were "A Kite Story" and the tile issue "The Lone Goat and Kid". The kite story I like because it was rather a beautiful story. Sakai somehow manages to tell three great stories about kite making and a festival dedicated to kites. The other tale that I liked, homages the iconic manga of the Lone Wolf and Cub. I myself have never read the Lone Wolf, but I know of him because his image has been mimicked in comics ever since. With the Usagi version though I kind of like how they made him a goat rather then a wolf. That way it could be Sakai's version as well.

As Stan Lee wrote in the introduction, Sakai is a genius when it comes to storytelling. I have yet to run into any problem with any of the issues. Each story is wonderfully written and the art maybe cartoony, but really works well for the comic. I said this before, but now it official: Usagi Yojimbo is my favorite comic book character and comic series. ( )

Very strong book. Curiously, reading the lone goat and kid story again made me realize that The Mandalorian is probably equally based on the Lone Wolf and Cub manga or films. ( )

Not as good as its predecessor, but "Lone Goat and Kid" has stories from okay to great. A standout was definitely "The Kite Maker's Tale." Very interesting stuff, and quite different from the rest of the series. ( )

It may be a book about a bunny rabbit but all of Stan Sakai's works are well written with a believable and well researched plot as well as artistic and beautiful to look at. Very highly recommended if one is wanting more than super heroes in spandex in their comic books. ( )
