I first came about this series at work, I was supposed to be working but as I was clearing up a shelf i came across book 2 and opened it for a quick read....which ended up being a half hour sit on the floor behind a cage and peek about for managers while devouring about thirty pages and deciding to buy the series.

I bought the set and flew through this one in a day and a bit, i loved its original take and sarcastic tone reminding me of Terry Prachett only for kids.

A great read and worthy enough to sit on my shelf for a while. ( )

This has confirmed one thing for me: I really dislike footnotes in fiction. If it's that important that you really need the sarcastic asides and clarifications, figure out how to incorporate it into the narrative--or just leave it out. Edit! Cut!

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I think if I were a ten-year-old boy I would love this book. As it is, a little too young for me to truly enjoy. ( )

this book is about a god named prometheus who stole fire and gave it to the humans. He was put in to chains for 200 years but escaped. He is on a mission to find a young worrior but he must also run from the avemger. The avenger will hunt him untill it kills him and it will continue killing him for the rest of his life. Zeus his brother is helping him through this quest. Prometheus meets many people including a women and a beggar or fake beggar. The end of this book is amazing and so is the rest of the book. Will prometheus complete his quest or will he fail and loose it for the cost of death.
I really enjoye this nook . I think that it is great for kids in 6 grade because it has great vocabulary. I would rate this book 5 stars because of its language and because i like the way it is set up. This book is a series book and has 6 books in it. I have only read the first one and i love it. I will continue to read this series. I think that other children should read these books because they are great and help woth vocabulary. I wnjoyed this book and hope others do to.

The Fire Thief is a book that takes place in ancient Greece, and the 1600s. Were a titan named Prometheus has escaped from his chains on the rock were he was kept for two hundred years. Were everyday an eagle named the Avenger would come down everyday and peck out his liver. Until he finally had Hercules help him break his bonds and escape. That is when Zeus comes down and offers him a proposition that Prometheus can't refuse. Zeus offers him a chance of life, his offer is that if he can find a human hero before the Avenger destroys him he will be redeemed. Then he would be forgiven when for when he stole fire form the gods. Will he be able to be redeemed?

I thought that this book was an awesome one. It was a thrill tale that kept me reading until I finished. I can't believe that he didn't keep on writing about Prometheus tales in the modern age. But then again that is what a trilogy is. Three books, no more, but int the book it was a never ending mystery on whether or not he would find the hero. Whether or not he would escape from the Avenger and continue to live on in life. But Prometheus put up a great fight even if he knew he might be destroyed in the process. It was an awesome book that I would read agin.

This is the first book in a trilogy of books about a Titan named Prometheus. Prometheus stole fire form Zeus and the gods and gave it to humans. In punishment, Zeus commanded that Prometheus be chained to the Causasus Mountains for ever. There, an eagle would eat his liver, and each day the liver would regrow again, making the punishment go on forever. Prometheus then escaped and killed the eagle or so he thought. Zeus then tracked him down and told him that if he found a human hero he would be set free, but the eagle would chase him to the end of time. Theus then goes into the future and meets Jim and Uncle Edward. They run around and hold play but while Uncle Edward is reciting the final poem Jim steals all the expensive things. Uncle Edward and Jim get caught. They are sinteced to death will be hanged. Uncle Edward then arranges that he will die and not Jim. Theus takes the spot of Uncle Edward because Theus can not die. Jim and Uncle Edward then leave the city. Theus has not found the hero but now know that 200 years there was a boy that had a temple made for him. Theus will search for the hero the eagle will search for Theus.
This is a really good book that I read before but just had to read again. I really like how Terry Deary wrote this book. He has a lot of humor and exciting parts. I also like how Theus always has to run from the eagle. Terry Deary does a real nice job with creating smart, funny, stupid and many of kinds of characters. Terry Deary is an amazing writer. everybody should read this exciting book. ( )
