Read at the Carle.

A kid comes down to breakfast one morning with a bag on his head, and goes about his day - meals, school, and soccer - before finally revealing the reason for the bag: he gave himself a haircut.

The book tells the story of a young boy named Josh starting his school day with putting a brown paper bag over his head. He continues throughout his day to get puzzling looks and questions about his baghead. Eventually he gets home and his little sister asks why he has a bag on his head. Josh then takes the bag off to reveal that he has given himself a bad hair cut. His little sister then gets the idea to fix it by spiking it up with some hair gel. Josh then no longer feels embarrassed about his hair and doesn't wear his bag. I thought this was a very simple children book with a great message. The massage I received by the end of this book was that nothing is that bad if you're able to have a positive attitude about it. It was able to show that what seems like the most difficult problems may have a simple solution. Overall I feel this would be great book to read to a group of young students. ( )

Only one of almost a dozen grown-ups wasn't negative? I don't like it when authors pretend that it's only kids who can have insights. This didn't charm me, or make me giggle, or want to share it with a child. Sorry. ( )

Hahaha. I don't know how many parents I've said... Keep an eye on the scissors... They always try it at least once... If not on their own hair on their siblings... And sure enough. That said O, now five, has yet to do it. Knowing her it won't be her precious hair, which she won't let anyone cut, it will be her brother's hair that needs a trim. Mark my words!!! Time will tell. :). We enjoyed this story a lot. ( )

This is funny story, his mom, teacher and bus driver did not know where josh possibly be hiding? a surprise ending will keep kids giggling and from taking haircuts into their own hands.
