One of the American Girls of today.....this book hit home for me. Sadly all girls have one experience or another with cliches and mean girls. This book was REAL. It's good that American Girl touched on these topics in a real way. Chrissa's story could easily be mine or one of the girls that I plan on counseling one day. It's a reminder that they are not alone. Chrissa Maxwell is from Iowa . She moved to Minnesota with her brother Tyler, mom and dad. But Chrissa is bullied at her new school, and it goes too far. Read this book to find out how you can make a difference like Chrissa did. I think this is a good book for people who are being bullied, witnessed bullying, or are the actual bully. It teachers you how to stand up for yourself, how to stand up for the other person and how to stop being a bully. Chrissa did the right thing by turning to an adult she trusts for help. I learned these people can be your mom, dad, guardian, teacher or grandparents.I likes how Tara, the bully and Chrissa sort of became friends.I like American Girl books because they always have a great message. When Chrissa comes to a new school, she's faced with non-stop bullying. Three girls seem determined to make her life miserable, and when she finds a new friend, they make it even harder for her. Finally one of the girls stops being a bully and becomes her friend, the one she's been trying to befriend all along does, too, and she tells her mom. Chrissa finally has allies and that helps her. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Chrissa Maxwell moves to a new school in the middle of the year, and the girls in her fourth-grade class are decidedly unfriendly. On the advice of her grandmother, Chrissa tries first to be nice, and then to ignore the mean girls. But they just won't quit, and when the teasing turns into serious bullying, Chrissa must find the courage to stand strong and speak out. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
