Especially appreciated by folks of Irish heritage but a good rea dfor everyone ( ) The story starts out with Nuala in a free-for-all and, of course, winning. She's defending her kids and their school from bullies, two of whom are running the school. From there things only escalate and not in a positive way and, of course, the new cardinal (Blackie) will arrive, invisibly, as only he can, to help save the day. The second story concerns the life of Angela Tierney, an Irish immigrant who goes on to be a great doctor in a time (late 1800s-early 1900s) when women we only begrudgingly accepted as physicians not matter how good they are, especially if they spout new doctrines that actually work to save lives. This is a wonderful next edition to the Nuala McGrail saga. It is a book that keeps you reading, a book you don't put down until the end. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
