I originally read the first 3 or 4 volumes of DD online several years ago, before it was licensed here. I fell in love with it because it had that perfect blend of humor and romance that not a lot of shoujo series get right (because they focus too much on a dramatic female antagonist who starts way more crap than any real person would), and the premise was interesting. Life got in the way, I stopped reading it, and then happened to see it on the shelves at B&N one day. I didn't start collecting the volumes until this year, but I knew for sure I would pick them up because of how much I enjoyed what I read way back. Teru is a likable female lead--strong, smart but sometimes goofy, but also still a pretty normal teenage girl who has her share of normal-ish problems. Kurosaki is the can-be-really-scary-but-is-actually-super-sweet type, and provides a good contrast to Teru. Their interactions are always a good laugh. There is the age difference, which might freak some people out? She's in high school and he's an adult, though their ages aren't mentioned in the first volume, so I don't remember what the gap is (if it ever IS mentioned). I think he might be around 22? I don't think any real romancing happens until later, anyway, so we'll see how that pans out. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"After orphan Teru Kurebayashi loses her beloved older brother, she finds solace in the messages she exchanges with Daisy, an enigmatic figure who can only be reached through the cell phone her brother left her. Meanwhile, mysterious Tasuku Kurosaki always seems to be around whenever Teru needs help. Could Daisy be a lot closer than Teru things?"--Cover. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

How romantic!
Obviously the audience must cheer for their eventual, inevitable marriage in the final volume. (No spoiler, just an assumption.)
Now excuse me as I go shower all the ick off me. ( )
