An ideal reference volume for anyone seeking out "common knowledge" of the Elizabethan world, but certainly far from commonly known today. Historical novels (and some non-fiction history books), plays, and those dreadful renaissance fairs (of the "come hither wench with a joint of beef" and "methinks the mead is sour forsooth" variety) would do well to consult this very well organized book. Despite being primarily a reference work, the prose is very readable. Highly recommend ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
