This is a book of poems, in this book there are 25 different poems. These poems talk about magnifying glasses, kittens, shoes, crabs, weeds, haunted house, and many more random things. I like that a lot of these poems do not rhyme, it teaches children that not all poems rhyme. These poems also ranged from different lengths, some where longer than others, but all got there point across. ( ) Similar to Sill More Small Poems, Worth does a good job at showing different varieties. This particular book covers poems about magnifying glass, kitten (my favorite obviously), safety pin, earth worms, lawnmower, sparrow, magnet, lions, caterpillar, fireworks, flamingo, hose, mosquito, shoes, sea lions, sidewalks, crab, weeds, haunted house, toad, pumpkin, Christmas lights, dinosaurs, and soap bubble all in different lengths and styles. More Small Poems is a book of twenty five poems written by Valerie Worth. I read another book from this series and loved how simply yet enjoying it was. The author takes everyday objects and turns them into poems. It is great to be able to see how the author sees these objects and it varies from how kids or adults may see them. This is my kind of poetry book. In other words, this is a poetry book for those who do not necessarily love poetry. In it, I find beautiful, simple, and somewhat houmous descriptions of simple things. This poetry book is a great tool to introduce reluctant students to poetry. It also invites readers to notice the little things that their eyes and minds pass over so often. Noticing things like a crack in a sidewalk or a garden hose may seem silly to students at first - until they realize that their descriptions can be poetry! The accessibility of these poems makes poetry not so scary, especially for those who are starting to write poetry. All it takes is a little bit of noticing to write a poem. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
