"It's called lucid dreaming. When you become aware that your dream is a dream, while you're actually dreaming it."Lucid dreaming. It sounded an intriguing enough prospect. A prospect worth giving a go.Why not? And, sure enough, Sloane's first journey into this heralded other-world does not disappoint. A dream unlike any she has ever experienced engulfs her. Swallows her whole. The thrill, however, comes quickly to an end, when Sloane finds herself gazing into her neighbor's apartment. And what she sees there, in a shadowed, secret room, will haunt her from that moment forward. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Lucid by Katherine Angela Yeboah is the tale of Sloane, a young woman who has begun to have terrifying dreams of a girl held captive and tortured. She suspects her neighbor. As she shares her fears with her friends, one of them decides to explore the neighbor's apartment while Sloane distracts him. In the end, Sloane herself is taken captive. All along, the neighbor is the suspect, but the ending has a surprise.
I enjoyed reading this book and kept turning the pages to find out if Sloane's dreams were real or if she was merely experiencing "lucid" dreaming. The generous use of sentence fragments at times was distracting from the story, but many skilled authors make use of this grammatical method.
It was a good scary read. Warning: it does not have a happy ending. ( )
