Whispers was a great magazine back in the 1970s. It seemed to have a somewhat erratic publishing schedule but it was an outlet for some really good writers and artists that really were having a hard time finding outlets for their stories back then. Outstanding first collection of the best from the magazine. Not a stinker in the lot. Even the Lumley is not half bad. There are some pretty obscure authors here and some hard to find stuff but also a lot of top names as well. I had never read the Aickman story The Miroir before and it is a really good one.
I'm not sure how easy this is to find. I would guess there are a lot of used copies out there. I found this at a used book store for 50 cents. It looked like the spine had never been cracked. ( )
