As The Hills is one of my many guilty pleasures, I thought it would be fun to pick up Lauren Conrad's first book. It is equally as ridiculous, and full of fluff, great for relaxing and emptying the mind. It's been a rough week for me, so this series has provided the escape I've needed. ( ) After reading so many historical books lately I needed a bit of a mental break, and this book totally filled my need for some chick-lit. Having watched The Hills so many times a lot of the plot points were familiar, but Conrad blended characters and swapped situations enough that I had fun trying to match characters/situations in the book to those in the tv show. It was a bit surprising that she gave Jane the complicated relationship (when in reality it was Heidi and Spencer), because for the most part it's clear that Jane is supposed to be Lauren and not Heidi. Maybe writing from her real-life frenemy's point of view was a way of trying to understand all of the drama that happened in real life to break up their friendship. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
