Josie Gordon's first Lonnie Squires mystery showcases her whacked sense of humour and a wicked talent for observation of small town life. Hang on to your olliebollens, because this story isn't over until the clog dancers are done Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

It's the story of Lonnie Squires, an Episcopal Priest. IT's told from her point of view, first person. She gets an opportunity to further her career in the church when she's brought into reconcile a small town's splintering Episcopal church so that it doesn't cause a stir when a big time businessman who may want to move his company to the small town comes into town.
It's also a mystery about the murder of one of the people who wants to break away from the town's Episcopal church. Now, some of the parts of the mystery were very, very obvious to me (including who did it), but, I have probably read more mysteries than a lot of people.
Also, some of the religious doggerel uttered by the characters really pissed me off, but I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to piss me off, so even as I was annoyed it was a sign of good writing.
It was a well written, interestingly plotted mystery with a little bit of lesbian romance fiction drama in there as well. The first in a serious of Lonnie mysteries. If I can find a copy I definitely would read the second in the series as well. ( )
