I have not read book 1 for the story of Lori but I did enjoy this one and felt like I was able to read it as a stand alone book. I loved the story line as I can somewhat relate to Sarah’s character. She has a lot of the self doubts that I have had myself and I can understand why sometimes she seemed to sabotage her relationship with Matt. While the story line was great I felt the book could have been condensed a little and about half way through the book I was surprised I still had another half to read as it seemed like the story could have ended right there. I am glad I kept reading though. Once Matt and Sarah make their move to another state I really got back into the story. Overall this was a really interesting book and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Sarah Martin has lived in the shadow of a demanding father, two older brothers, and a beautiful, talented, and self-assured best friend. She's always been strong-willed and determined, but never the most feminine of girls.
During her freshman year at university, when her roommate is having too much fun at a party to head back with Sarah, a mutual friend, Matt, offers to walk her home. Matt is her best friend's boyfriend's best friend. Surprisingly, both Sarah and Matt have more fun after the party battling each other at video games and then watching a gory horror movie together in her dorm room. Nothing happens romantically, but they both realize that they had a really great time together.
As time goes on, Sarah and Matt spend more time together, much to the surprise of all their friends back home. They seem like the most unlikely pair. Matt's been known for his womanizing ways, and Sarah is definitely not the type of girl he'd normally date. But Matt's roommate, Mike, sees in Sarah the girl that Matt needs.
Matt, on the other hand, has been running from his past. His mother up and left him, his brother, and his dad when he was a teenager. He's always been hesitant to trust females after that. But Sarah gets to him and he knows he can't live without her. It's Mike who convinces him to make his intentions honest.
SARAH is the story of both Sarah and Matt learning to trust and love each other as they make their way through their college years. Matt has the dream of becoming a professional football player and Sarah stands by and encourages him every step of the way. There are trying times in the story, times of deep love and sharing, and many learning periods.
Sarah and Matt are far from perfect, but the combination of the two prove that love can conquer all. ( )
