I appreciated the message here that family and adults need to listen to what the kid is really wanting. Also a great book to read before discussing how to pick out gifts for family and friends! Really fun illustrations as well. ( )

I enjoyed this book. It has a great flow to it and lots of rhyme. The words on one page rhyme with the pet that is bought. This is a great first grade book because they need lots of work with rhyming words. I think that it is a good book for descriptive words. It would also be a great book for a writing lesson because after reading it students could write about their idea of a perfect pet.
