As much as Constantine claims that London is haunted by the ghosts of murders past, it's also haunted by the living. The murderers, schemers, and the corrut are the spooks in the night even more than the supernatural because their existence can't be denied and wished away. Even Constantine is one of the haunts because of how he affects the city; not in a large way, but in the lives of those he touches he causes and change and becomes their living ghost until the time when they die and they in turn become his. ( ) The first arc of Warren Ellis' abortive run on Hellblazer. An excellent introduction to Constantine and the series itself, it's a very gripping, supernaturally inclined revenge plot with a terrific pay-off. Mike Carey expanded many of the elements Ellis introduced here to fine effect, making this something of a semi-prologue to Carey's epic run. Recommended. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
