The first reason is the point of view. This book was written in first person point of view with a child as the storyteller. A child’s perspective is a very innocent perspective and it made the story very relatable. For example, at the beginning of the story we read, “A garden after winter is a wonder to see.” Coming from a child, this is beautiful and peaceful. An adult may have a different opinion about what the garden looks like. The second reason I liked this story is the illustrations. Each page was covered in illustrations that matched the text well. On the pages that talked about winter, the illustrations were darker, browner. When the text spoke of summer, the illustrations were bright green and filled with the colors we expect to see in summer. The illustrations provided the story with emotion that is felt during each season. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
