The Xanth books by Piers Anthony were one of the first SciFi/Fantasy series I ever read. I love puns so I have always enjoyed them. Upon re-reading them I can see that they have some weaknesses but overall they stand the test of time. They are a fun and fast read that keeps me amused without any deep thinking required. ( ) I'm a Piers Anthony loyalist, and I really did like the basic story going on here, but good grief the unnecessary sex. Characters were hopping into bed left and right in ways that had nothing to do with furthering the plot. I'm no prude, but if there's that much physical intimacy going on, I'm pretty sure it should be a completely different kind of book. I found that there was way to much sex in this one. I would not have let my minor child read it. I don't think that the story line really got good until about the last third of the book. I kept waiting for something to happen that would make the story move along better. It was slow going for most of the book. Not one of the better books in this series storyline wise. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
