Her classmates have brought stamps, feathers, pennies, and rubberbands to school. Then her sisters gold fish dies. When her mom goes to throw the pebbles away she has an imaginative idea. Fancy Nancy makes a picture of Goldy the goldfish and uses 100 pebbles in the fishbowl. I liked this books use of new vocabulary words. When it used a big word it gives the meaning right after the word. I also liked the thought that Fancy Nancy puts into her project. I would read this book for the 100th day of school. Then have the students get up in front of the class to tell what they brought for the 100th day. We would then work on a paper where they glue 100 Cherios on a worksheet. This would be great practice for counting to 100. I really love the Fancy Nancy book collection. This particular book is about the 100th day of school approaching. The teacher is allowing everyone to bring something to class to represent the 100th day and Nancy is not sure would she should bring to show the class. This is a perfect book to read to students right around 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd grade. Fancy Nancy is having trouble deciding what to bring to the 100th day of school that is coming up in a few days. While Fancy Nancy is worrying about her project her sisters fish dies which makes everyone very sad. Nancy's mom is going to throw away the pebbles that are sitting in the fish tank but Nancy has bright idea to use the pebbles and have her sister make a big poster to bring to class on the 100th day!! I would read this book right before the 100th day of school in my classroom. The illustrations are fun and the activities that go along with the book could be fun projects for students to do. For example, I could ask students to do exactly what the students in Nancy's class did, bring in 100 pieces of something. This book really establishes to fun part of being different than others and finding a unique outlet. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
