( ) "In this easy-to-read chapter book, Poppleton the pig charms young readers with his quirky adventures, whimsical ideas, and engaging community of friends! In three wonderful springtime stories, Poppleton tries his hand at spring cleaning, riding a bike, and staying up all night in his new tent." -- Scholastic, Inc. I do love Poppleton and his neighbors. They're more grown-up than many of the friends in the various Early Reader series, but they still know how to have fun and how to cope with everyday challenges. As I add a review long after having read this, I admit I'm not sure why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. Poppleton decides, in "Spring Cleaning," to clean out his messy house, but when he offers to deliver his items to Cherry Sue, he winds up with a few surprises. Poppleton thought buying a bike would mean exercise and fun, but he becomes overwhelmed by his choices at the bike shop in "The Bike." He decides I a new exercise of choice. In "The Tent" Poppleton's friends think he is silly for deciding to sleep out in a tent, but he is very active outside. Cherry Sue, once again, proves to be a good friend. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
